Biography

Half Happy first glided into the Cardiff Music scene in 2022, immediately getting attention from BBC Introducing Adam Walton after the release of ‘Runaway Girl’. They bagged themselves Huw Stephens Artist of the Week and secured themselves a spot on Spotify’s ‘Hot New Bands’.

They sold out their debut show and headline show in Clwb Ifor Bach, played a sold out London Showcase at Omeara and played at Green Man Festival.

Half Happy have just been awarded the 2023 Triskel Award at the Welsh Music Prize. This award is given to the brightest, new, emerging artists of the year. Half Happy are certainly ones to watch in 2024.

The band cemented their friendship in university over mutual obsessions with Tame Impala, Foals and Radiohead, and followed bands such as Superfood and Wolf Alice from their conception. These 90’s babies mould these influences into something fresh which hooks new fans and loyal followers.

Half Happy plays around confidently with fun daydream vocals that stick to tight indie drums that thump below guitar riffs that walk the line between heavy and heavenly. It’s a running joke that isn’t getting old yet, they are way more than Half Happy.
